With a long career in medicine and science behind me, I came to photography later in life, carrying a lifelong fascination but never quite knowing how to translate theory into compelling images.

Parker has given me the tools and the vision to do just that.

He has a rare gift for breaking down the elements of a photograph; light, shape, balance, and design and teaching you how to recognize and arrange them when making a photo.

His instruction echoes the wisdom of photographer Bill Brandt, who said that it is the photographer’s job “to see more intensely than most people do.”

Parker is teaching me to see with that same intensity, with the receptiveness of a child and the curiosity of a traveler.

Clear, thoughtful, and encouraging, Parker is both an expert in photography and a gifted communicator.

Thanks to his guidance, I am not only learning composition, I am learning to truly see.

I loved this ebook. It was easy to read, understand, and follow. I can remember the acronym, so I will be able to follow it.

After reading to book, I went back to some of my images (which i had previously thought were ok), and managed to make a few changes.

I will use this technique regularly now and will strive to use it in camera.

Looking at the edges and for distractions made the biggest difference for me.

Thank you, Parker.

I think this would be an invaluable resource for any photographer, new or experienced, a tool to self critique your images. I would recommend to all.
